Economic growth, job creation and low unemployment--which has marked President Clinton's first four years in office--continues into his second term. The January numbers indicate that America begins the new year with good news: 271,000 new jobs were created last month, and that pushes the total up to 11.5 million new jobs since this time in 1993.

And the good news continues. January marked the 29th consecutive month that unemployment was under 6%--a clear indication that the economic train to the 21st century is on track.
