The economy continues to simmer along nicely without boiling over.
September's unemployment rate of 5.2 percent means another month of low
unemployment in America. Combining September and August gives us the lowest
unemployment rate for any two-month period in seven years.
Average hourly earnings continue to rise. Wages are up 3.5 percent over
the past year. And, although job creation has slowed, the economy still has
added an average of 200,000 jobs a month over the last six months.
