"It appeared the Senate leadership would stand and watch as
the value of the minimum wage crashed to a 40-year low, something no other
Congress has allowed to happen. I am very pleased that the leadership has
agreed on the minimum wage's 58th anniversary to honor the wishes of the
American public and a majority of the Congress and allow a vote."
