OPA Press Release: LABOR DEPARTMENT RELEASES NAMES OF JOB CORPS STUDENTS WHO SURVIVED MARYLAND TRAIN COLLISSION [02/17/1996]

Labor Department officials today released the names of Job Corps students who survived Friday's train accident in Maryland.

The survivors, their age and hometown are:

Eric Garcia, 18, Bethlehem, Pa.; Damion Benitez, 19, Philadelphia, Pa.; Richard Brown, 18, Wilmington, Del.; James Forbes, 23, Richmond, Va.; Rodney Crawford, 19, Philadelphia, Pa.; Tyrai Boyer, 16, Philadelphia, Pa.; Kelvin Williams, 19, Seat Pleasant, Md.; James Young Jr., 19, Lusby, Md.; William Robertson, 16, Washington, D.C.

Still unaccounted for are:

Dante Swain, 18, Baltimore, Md.; Michael Woodson, 16, Philadelphia, Pa.; Diana Hanvichid, 17, Woodbridge, Va.; Lakeisha Marshall, 17, Capitol Heights, Md., Carlos Byrd, 17, Baltimore, Md.; Claudius Kessoon, 20, Landover, Md.; Thomas Loatman, 23, Vienna, Va.; Karis Rudder, 17, Elmhurst, N.Y.

Job Corps student Timothy Fowler, 18, of Silver Spring, Md. boarded the train in Harper's Ferry with his fellow students. However, he departed the train at the Rockville station prior to the crash.
