The President's proposal puts families first and is just the boost we need to continue to help fathers support their children and to help families who are working their way off of welfare. Children from low-income households are the primary beneficiaries.

"Fathers Work, Families Win" is one more way to put the emphasis where it belongs -- on the importance of work. We know that when fathers have jobs that their children do better and non-custodial fathers are more likely to reconnect with their children and to become a bigger part of their lives.

The President has taken a bold step that will give children the support they need to have the opportunities they deserve.
