These new worker displacement data show that most displaced workers find new work. Yet many have not and we need them to fuel our thriving economy. Some Americans live in areas where jobs are not plentiful and have difficulty attaining new employment. Others need to upgrade their skills for the 21st century. Of 7.6 million people dislocated over the last three years, nearly 2 million were not employed early this year.

Department of Labor programs are available to help dislocated workers find new work and obtain new skills. As our economy continues to grow, we need to reach out to these untapped Americans.
