I applaud the Senate for their rapid, bi-partisan action on
the stock options bill -- allowing American workers to share in their
employer's growth and profitability.
Senators Dodd, McConnell, Jeffords and Enzi showed great
leadership in this effort, working with the Department and business leaders, to
exempt certain stock option programs yet still maintain the important
protections for workers that the Fair Labor Standards Act embodies.
I urge the House to take action on its companion bill and
look forward to the swift passage of the final law.
