On Productivity and Costs
WASHINGTON—U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao issued the following statement on Productivity and Costs, Third Quarter 2005, revised:
“Today's numbers on productivity growth are twice the average for the 1990s, showing that our economy is strong and that the American workforce is the reason for that strength. Higher productivity is the key to U.S. competitiveness and helps to raise the standard of living for American workers.”
