Statement of U.S. Labor Secretary Elaine L. Chao
On November Employment Numbers
WASHINGTON—U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao issued the following statement on the November employment situation released today:
“Today's report of 215,000 new jobs in November is good news for workers, especially as the gains were widespread across the economy. 4.5 million net new jobs have been created since May 2003. More Americans are on payrolls than ever before and October's revisions showed the largest one month increase in average hourly earnings on record.”
