Leadership Foundation Chairman Emeritus Dr. John B. Tsu
WASHINGTONU.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao and U.S.
Secretary of Transportation Norman Y. Mineta presented a special tribute to Dr.
John B. Tsu, immediate past chairman emeritus of the International Leadership
Foundation (ILF), during Thursdays ILF annual Awards Dinner in
Washington.
Asian Pacific Americans have much to contribute to America,
said Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao. Dr. Tsu has been a leader through
the decades in helping to create more opportunities for Asian Pacific Americans
to participate in every aspect of mainstream American life.
Secretary Elaine L. Chao is the first Asian-American woman appointed to
a Presidents Cabinet in American history. She was the honored recipient
of the ILFs Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003. The award, ILFs
highest distinction, is given to individuals who have made extensive efforts to
promote leadership opportunities for Asian Pacific Americans, have significant
professional accomplishments, and have a strong commitment to community
service.
The International Leadership Foundation is a non-profit, nonpartisan
organization that offers scholarships to young Asian Americans who want to
complete fellowships in public service and international affairs. The
Foundation works with leaders of Asian American organizations nationwide to
identify students for summer internship programs in the private and public
sectors.
