Deputy U.S. Secretary of Labor Cameron Findlay Announces
Departure
Will Become General Counsel of Aon
Corporation
WASHINGTONDeputy Secretary of Labor Cameron Findlay
announced today that he is leaving the department this summer to return to
Chicago as executive vice-president and general counsel of Aon Corporation, one
of the worlds largest risk management, insurance services, and human
capital consulting firms with 55,000 employees in 125 countries. Findlay will
serve as a member of Aons four-member executive committee and supervise
the work of the companys legal department.
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve in this
Administration under the leadership of President Bush and Secretary Chao,
Findlay said. Secretary Chao has made great progress in making the
Department of Labor relevant to the realities of the 21st Century
economy, and I have been proud to have been a part of that effort.
Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao stated, Cam has been a valued
and trusted member of the Presidents and my team at the U.S. Department
of Labor. Hes played a significant role in what has been accomplished
over the past two years. The Administration is fortunate to have had him for
the length of time we did. Cam will be greatly missed. All of us, his
colleagues, wish him and his wife, Amy, well as they return to their hometown
and take up a new and exciting opportunity.
Findlay was nominated by President George W. Bush in April 2001 and
unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate in May of that same year.
