The Secretary of Labor's Advisory Council on Employee
Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans and its work groups will hold public meetings
May 9-10 at the U. S. Department of Labor (Frances Perkins Building), 200
Constitution Ave., N. W., Washington, D. C.
On May 9 the Pension Education and Real Estate work groups
will meet at 9 a. m. and 1 p.m., respectively, in Room S-3215 A-B. The
following day, May 10, at 9 a.m. the Defined Contribution Adequacy work group
will meet in Room S-3215. All three work groups will finalize issues to be
examined this year and determine witnesses and other testimonies to be
solicited.
Following the meeting of the Defined Contribution Adequacy
work group on May 10, the full council will meet at 1 p.m. in Room S-2508 to
receive status reports of the council's 1995 work groups and to invite public
comment on any aspect of the administration of ERISA.
Individuals or organizations wishing to address the
council should submit a written request before May 1 to Linda Jackson, acting
executive secretary, ERISA Advisory Council, U. S. Department of Labor, Room
N-5677, 200 Constitution Ave., N. W., Washington, D. C. Oral presentations are
limited to 10 minutes, but witnesses may submit an extended statement for the
record.
Members of the public who do not want to testify may
submit 20 copies of their statement to the above address.
The advisory council is a bipartisan group of 15 members
appointed by the Secretary of Labor to represent a wide range of interests in
the employee benefits area. The council advises and makes recommendations to
the Secretary of Labor on the administration of ERISA.
