US Department of Laborís ERISA Advisory Council to hold Sept. 28 teleconference
WASINGTON The U.S. Department of Labor's Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans, also known as the ERISA Advisory Council, will convene a meeting by teleconference on Sept. 28 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. EDT.Members of the public who wish to listen to the teleconference may do so only if physically present in the conference room of the Labor Department's Employee Benefits Security Administration, which is located at 122 C St. NW, Suite 400, Washington, D.C. 20210.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss reports and recommendations for the secretary of labor related to:
- Challenges and best practices for Employee Retirement Income Security Act compliance regarding 403(b) plan sponsors.
- Hedge funds and private equity investments.
- Privacy and security issues affecting employee benefit plans, other than health care plans.
Organizations and members of the public wishing to submit a written statement may do so by submitting 30 paper copies on or before Sept. 21 to Larry Good, executive secretary, ERISA Advisory Council, U.S. Department of Labor, Suite N-5623, 200 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20210. Statements also may be submitted as email attachments in a text or PDF format to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The ERISA Advisory Council consists of 15 members appointed to staggered three-year terms by the secretary of labor. The members represent the general public, employers and employee organizations, as well as the fields of insurance, corporate trust, investment management, investment counseling, accounting and actuarial counseling.
