Jason S.: Customized Employment Aiding Better Customer Service
Jason S. wanted to work. He heard about the Maryland Customized Employment Partnership and called to schedule an appointment. Jason met with a career specialist at the MontgomeryWorks Career Center, where an employment support team was put together for him. Using a discovery process, the team identified Jason’s strengths, needs and interests, as well as necessary accommodations. He is now working as a project assistant for a marketing support service company in Rockville, Maryland. Jason, who has epilepsy and mental illness, is responsible for a number of tasks that other staff had taken on as supplementary duties to their main assignments. Now administrative support flows more smoothly and business orders are filled more quickly.
