Through the Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) ODEP provides young adults with disabilities attending or recently graduating from college with internship opportunities with federal and private sector employers interested in hiring talented future employees. Once you graduate, you can search for job openings in your geographic area and post your resume on the website Employer Assistance & Resource Network (EARN) , a free service funded by ODEP that connects skilled job candidates with employers looking for quality employees.

ODEP offers several self-employment resources:

  • JAN's Entrepreneurial consultants can provide one-on-one guidance and referal information by calling (800) 526-7234 or (877) 781-9403 (TTY) and requesting entrepreneurial assistance.
  • START-UP/USA or call (804) 828-1851 or (804) 828-2494 (TTY) - Provides technical assistance and disseminates resources nationally to individuals interested in pursuing self-employment, which includes a live web cast series with successful entrepreneurs who share their secrets for success.
