A Resource for Increasing Inclusion
Businesses that are inclusive of people with disabilities, including veterans with disabilities, benefit from a wider pool of talent, skills and creative business solutions.† Furthermore, work environments that are flexible and open to the talents of all qualified individuals, including those with disabilities, actually promote workplace success for everyone.
Not all employers who want to recruit qualified people with disabilities and veterans know how to do so, however.† But now, thanks to a new resource from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), itís never been easier.† The Disability and Veterans Community Resources Directory centralizes information about national, state and local organizations that can help businesses source qualified workers with disabilities and veterans based on their identified needs.
The directory was developed by DOLís Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) to help federal contractors fulfill their requirements under historic regulatory updates that took effect last month, but all businesses ó whether they have federal contracts or not ó are encouraged to take advantage of it.
By partnering with organizations such as those included in the directory, businesses of all sizes and in all industries can help ensure qualified people with disabilities and veterans have more meaningful opportunities to find, secure and keep good jobs.† Whatís more, they can reap the benefits of a more inclusive workforce.
