May 27, 2010 2010 ETA Research Grants Solicitation
Dear Congressional Staff:
Today, the Department of Labor announced a solicitation for the 2010 ETA Research Papers Program. The Department of Labor's Employment & Training Administration (ETA), Division of Contract Services is soliciting offers for original research papers of interest to the public workforce investment system. The research attained through the 2010 Research Papers Program will provide innovative ideas to those on the front-line of service delivery in the public workforce investment system.

ETA anticipates awarding 8-10 contracts to individuals. Eligible applicants for the grants include:
- any individual currently in a PhD program in public policy, public administration, economics or a similar field,
- any individual who has recently graduated (within 2 years) from a PhD program in public policy, public administration, economics or a similar field,
- any individual in a post-doctoral program in public policy, public administration, economics or a similar field, or.
- any individual who has recently completed (within 2 years) a post-doctoral program in public policy, public administration, economics or a similar field.
Students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-Serving Colleges and Universities, and Tribal Colleges and Universities are encouraged to apply for this solicitation.
