April 12, 2010 On-the-Job Training National Emergency Grants
Dear Congressional Staff:
We wanted to make sure you were aware of the “Training and Employment Notice” (which can be found at: http://wdr.doleta.gov/directives/corr_doc.cfm?docn=2882) for the On-the-Job Training (OJT) National Emergency Grants (NEGs), which will be sent out to State Workforce Agencies this morning. This Training and Employment Notice describes initial plans for awarding these grants so that State Workforce Agencies can begin to plan for the application process and can strengthen or build partnerships to be successful applicants. The Training & Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL) will be published soon, with information about application closing dates and other details. We will send you the TEGL when it is available.
Please note that we are unable to answer inquiries related to the Training and Employment Notice since it is a competitive application process. We expect states to be the eligible applicants for these OJT NEGs, but the TEGL will contain detailed instructions, times and dates for prospective applicant conferences, and for submitting applications.
Please feel free to contact Laura MacDonald (firstname.lastname@example.org), Adri Jayaratne (email@example.com), or Aaron Ver (firstname.lastname@example.org) in the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs at 202-693-4600 if you have any questions.
