April 2, 2010 National Emergency Grant for New York
Dear New York Delegation:
Here is information about a National Emergency Grant (NEG) that is being awarded to your state to provide employment and training services to about 5,492 finance industry workers affected by layoffs in the financial industry. This funding will provide for continued reemployment and training services to participants.
Description of NEG
- DOL is granting a second and final incremental award in the amount of $5,594,913 to the New York State Department of Labor. An initial grant of $5,522,810 was awarded on February 26, 2009. This brings total funding to date for this project to $11,117,723.
- The geographic areas covered by this funding are: New York City (the Bronx, Brooklyn, Kings, Queens, and Staten Island), and the counties of Dutchess, Nassau, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Suffolk, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester.
