March 23, 2010 National Emergency Grant for Oregon Joe's Sports, Outdoor, Auto/Truck and More
Dear Oregon Delegation:
Here is information about a National Emergency Grant (NEG) that is being awarded to Oregon to serve workers affected by layoffs from Joe's Sports, Outdoor, Auto/Truck and More (Joe's), located in Wilsonville. This project will provide employment-related services to workers. The majority will attend customized career exploration workshops, receive one-on-one assistance, and remedial and long-term training to help them transition and compete for job opportunities in high-growth industries in the region.
Description of Oregon NEG
- DOL is granting an award of up to $1,137,425, with $863,865 released initially, funded by resources made available for NEGs under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
- The geographic areas covered by this funding are: The counties of Clackamas, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, and Washington
- Project Operator: The Workforce Investment Council of Clackamas County
- Projected Number of Participants: About 100
