March 11, 2010 — National Emergency Grant for West Virginia
Dear West Virginia Delegation:
Here is information about a National Emergency Grant (NEG) that is being awarded to West Virginia to enable the State to continue temporary employment opportunities to assist with clean-up and recovery efforts as a result of the 2009 Southern West Virginia flooding.
Description of West Virginia NEG
- DOL is granting an incremental award of $240,000 to WorkForce West Virginia. On June 10, 2009, a NEG was approved for up to $720,000, with $240,000 released initially. This will bring the total NEG funds awarded for this project to $480,000.
- Geographic Area Covered: The counties of Calhoun, Gilmer, Lewis, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Raleigh, Roane, Upshur, Wirt, and Wyoming.
