February 2, 2010 National Emergency Grant for Oregon
Dear Oregon Delegation:
Here is information about a National Emergency Grant (NEG), in the amount of $817,867, that is being awarded to Oregon to continue to provide employment-related services to workers affected by layoffs from Boise Cascade, LLC, located in St. Helens. On June 1, 2009, a NEG was approved for up to $1,416,970, with $599,103 released initially, which was funded by resources made available for NEGs under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.
Description of Oregon NEG
- DOL is granting an incremental award of $817,867, funded by resources made available for NEGs under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, to the Oregon Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development. This will bring the total NEG funds awarded for this project to $1,416,970.
- The geographic areas covered by this funding are: Columbia County
