The Security Center
Classified Information
The Security Center (SC) is responsible for the management of the Department's Classified National Security Information program, the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), and construction of secure rooms in the national and regional offices. The Classified Information Program is also responsible for adjudicating background investigations for employees requiring a security clearance, processing SCI nominations, conducting initial security briefings/debriefings, reporting security incidents, providing briefings for foreign travel and/or foreign contact.
