Conference History
The Annual National Equal Opportunity Conference began in 1989 with the objective of establishing an event that would facilitate information exchange and heighten awareness about in the ever-evolving world of equal opportunity and nondiscrimination. This event represents the U.S. Department of Labor’s commitment in assisting its grantees and contractors to fulfill their equal opportunity and nondiscrimination obligations. Professional staff of all U.S. Department of Labor financial assistance recipients -national, State and local level -are strongly encouraged to attend, particularly those with equal opportunity duties and responsibilities.

Conference registration fee - $250
Registration fee includes – Collectible conference briefcase/bag, souvenir items, continental breakfast each day (full breakfast on day two), mid-morning and mid-afternoon break, two three course lunches, and an evening networking reception.

Step 1 - Complete registration form for each registrant
Step 2 – Enclose check, made
payable to USDOL-Civil Rights Center. State employee conference registrants paying
by purchase order should write “Paying by Purchase Order” on the top of the
registration form and fax to attention of Gloria Simpson or Margaret Montoya at
(202) 693-6505. No credit cards are accepted.

Making
hotel reservations
Conference registrants must make their own hotel reservations. The hotel is guaranteeing a government rate of $150 per night (plus local tax). The rate is available on a first-come basis for room nights during July 29 thru August 2, 2002.
Upon request, the hotel has accessible rooms for individuals with disabilities, and non-smoking rooms.
The hotel will hold all reservations until 6:00 p.m. on the scheduled date of arrival unless guaranteed with a deposit or credit card.
