Guam

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (The Recovery Act) was signed into law by President Obama on February 17, 2009. The Department of Labor is investing $9.2 million to help meet the needs of workers in Guam through both Recovery Act and regular appropriations.

  • The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act includes $3.7 million for Guam:
    • $1.4 million for Workforce Investment Act youth activities,
    • $555,000 for Workforce Investment Act adult activities,
    • $1.6 million for Workforce Investment Act dislocated worker activities, and
    • $185,000 for Wagner-Peyser Act services.
  • The Department is investing $5.5 million in Guam through ETA program year 2010 formula allotments:
    • $1.1 million for Workforce Investment Act youth activities,
    • $997,885 for Workforce Investment Act adult activities,
    • $1.6 million for Workforce Investment Act dislocated worker activities,
    • $329,219 for Wagner-Peyser Act services,
    • $92,899 for Workforce Information system, and
    • $1.35 million for the Senior Community Service Employment Program.
