Problem to be Addressed |
The project addressed the following barriers in the formal education system that hindered access to basic education for working children: 1) lack of knowledge on children's education; 2) irrelevant curriculum; 3) inadequately trained teachers with low motivation; and 4) limited access to quality vocational education. |
Results |
The project withdrew 11,332 children and prevented 3,954 children from hazardous work in various sectors. These included carpet weaving, leather tannery, shoe manufacturing, automobile workshops, brick kilns, and agriculture. The project targeted the Sheikhupura and Kasur districts in the province of Punjab. |
