Federal Register Notice: Child Labor, Forced Labor, and Forced Child Labor and Efforts by Certain Countries to Combat the Worst Forms of Child Labor

On February 24, 2010, ILAB published in theFederal Registera notice of two related requests for information (RFIs) from the public in advance of developing reports to Congress and the President. One RFI seeks information on goods produced in foreign countries by child labor, forced labor, and/or forced or indentured child labor. The other focuses on certain countries' efforts to implement their commitments to eliminate the worst forms of child labor. Information received will be reviewed and used as appropriate for ILAB's updates to reporting under the Trade and Development Act of 2000 (TDA), the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Acts of 2005 and 2008 (TVPRA), and Executive Order 13126 of 1999 (EO 13126). Responses to the RFIs were requested by April 9, 2010; however, ILAB welcomes information on these topics on an ongoing basis and will continue to review submissions as they are received.
