October 4, 2006: Funding of project to oversee efforts to eliminate child labor in the cocoa sector announced

The Labor Department today announced the funding of a $4.3 million project to oversee public and private efforts to eliminate the worst forms of child labor in the cocoa sector.


September 6, 2006: 2005 Findings on the Worst Forms of Child Labor released

The Labor Department today released its fifth annual report on the worst forms of child labor in 137 countries and territories that receive U.S. trade benefits. The report was prepared in accordance with the Trade and Development Act of 2000, which requires the President to submit an annual report to the Congress with respect to certain trade beneficiary countries' implementation of international commitments to eliminate the worst forms of child labor.

The International Child Labor Program maintains a list of products produced with forced or indentured child labor under Executive Order 13126. For more information, click here.
