Problem to be Addressed

The Ministers of Labor of Central America and the Dominican Republic, together with the Employers Organizations and Workers Organizations, have expressed, in different fora and instruments, their interest to undertake decisive actions to strengthen labor justice and to improve the enforcement and compliance of labor regulations in their countries. The Report of the Working Group of Vice-Ministers Responsible for Trade and Labor in the Countries of Central America and the Dominican Republic regarding the labor dimension, entitled “Building on Progress: Strengthening Compliance and Enhancing Capacity,” also known as the “White Paper”, among its priorities, defines strengthening the judicial system for labor law.  According to this report, each country has specifically committed to strengthen labor justice.

 

Project objectives

To contribute to strengthening labor justice, at the administrative and judicial level, so as to advance in the effective compliance of ILO’s International Labor Standards.

To create a deeper knowledge of Internationally Recognized Labor Standards within Law Schools and legal representatives of the CAFTA-DR countries..
