Problem to be Addressed |
Reliable data and information on child labor is important for identifying priorities and strategies aimed at the elimination of the worst forms of child labor world wide. In the early 1990’s reliable data to meet these needs was scarce. More up-to-date household surveys looking at child labor – implemented chiefly through the ILO SIMPOC, the UNICEF MICS and the World Bank LSMS – are gradually meeting this need for reliable child labor information. Mechanisms for sharing and disseminating this information are poorly developed however. |
Project Objectives |
Provide reliable and accurate up-to-date and in some cases, trend statistics on children’s work and child labor for the USDOL’s Findings on the Worst Forms of Child Labor report. |
