Deputy Undersecretary Sandra Polaski delivered remarks during a panel discussion at the “Better Work” conference in Washington, D.C. The conference was sponsored by the International Finance Corporation to highlight 10 years of increasing competitiveness through the improvement of labor standards. Participants reviewed the achievements of the Better Factories Cambodia and Better Work programs that have benefited more than 1.2 million workers worldwide, and discussed ways to reach millions more by expanding to new industries.
