Descriptions of Search Options

Sources in WebMILS are organized by country, standard and indicator category, which can be selected using the drop down menus. More information about the applicable standards can be found through the "International Labor Standards" link.

Indicator Categories

The WebMILS indicators and their associated information sources have been sorted into the following categories.

  1. "A" Indicators — The first set of indicators focuses on assessment of the legal framework relating to the core labor standard.
  2. "B" Indicators — The second set of indicators addresses assessment of a government's performance in implementation of the core labor standard (both effort and effectiveness of implementation) .
  3. "C" Indicators — The third set of indicators involves assessment of overall outcomes with regard to the core labor standard.
  4. "D" Indicators — Associated Factors.
  5. "E" Indicators — Human Capital: In the committee's analysis, human capital includes both formal education -- that is, primary, secondary, and tertiary education offered through traditional schooling—and nonformal education and training that may be available to both children and adults. Nonformal programs may include, for instance, vocational training, apprenticeships, literacy programs, and other programs by which both children and adults can obtain learning and job skills.
  6. "F" Indicators — General Country Information.
