Title: ¤Trade Adjustment Assistance Program; Apportionment of Training Funds to States 

Abstract: The Trade and Globalization Assistance Act of 2009 (Act), which was included in title VIII subtitle I of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, reforms and reauthorizes the Trade Adjustment (TAA) for Workers program. The Act modifies section 236(a)(2) of the Trade Act of 1974 (19 U.S.C. 2296) setting new guidelines and criteria for distributing funds to the states for the purpose of training TAA-certified workers, and adds section 236(g) requiring that the Secretary issue regulations to implement the new funding procedures within not later than one year of enactment.
