The Family and Medical Leave Act: A Report on the Request for Information

Welcome to the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (WHD) Website on the Report on the public comments received in response to the December 2006 Request for Information on the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

WHD published a Report on the comments (Download Adobe Acrobat Reader) received in response to the Request for Information on the Family and Medical Leave Act. The Department asked the public to provide information about their experiences with the FMLA and to provide comments on the effectiveness of the FMLA regulations. More than 15,000 comments were submitted in response to the Department’s request. The Report summarizes the issues raised in the comments received.
