01264 PERSONNEL ASSISTANT (EMPLOYMENT) IV
Performs work in support of personnel professionals which requires a
good working knowledge of personnel procedures, guides, and precedents. In
representative assignments: interviews applicants, obtains references, and
recommends placement of applicants in a few well-defined occupations
(trade or clerical) within a stable organization or unit; conducts
post-placement or exit interviews to identify job adjustment problems or
reasons for leaving the organization; performs routine statistical
analyses related to manpower, EEO, hiring, or other employment concerns,
e.g., compares one set of data to another set as instructed; and
requisitions applicants through employment agencies for clerical or blue
collar jobs. At this level, assistants typically have a range of personal
contacts within and outside the organization and with applicants, and must
be tactful and articulate. May perform some clerical work in addition to
the above duties. Supervisor reviews completed work against stated
objectives.
