OXYCONTIN REIMBURSEMENT REVISION
Effective immediately, the Federal Black Lung Program will only reimburse
charges for this medication if pain alleviation is for pneumoconiosis and its
sequelae as defined at 30 U.S.C. 902(b) and its implementing regulations.
To obtain reimbursement for this medication, additional information in the
form of an attachment, is required in order to verify the appropriateness of the
service as related to the Federal Black Lung Program. The information must
contain the diagnosis[es] and the physician's original signature.
