Information on FECA's Consolidated Bill Processing and Medical Authorization Process

All Medical Authorizations and Bill processing are handled by our contractor, ACS.

    ATTENTION PROVIDERS: Effective 10/1/06, your ACS/OWCP Provider Number/ID must be in Box 33 of any HCFA-1500 and in Box 51 of any OWCP-04 submitted for bill processing. Any billing form submitted without the Provider Number/ID in the designated box will not be processed and will be returned to the provider.

    We have enhanced our computer system to ensure that the care the injured worker is receiving is relevant to the condition(s) for which the case was accepted.   Learn More

    Injured Workers, Medical Providers, and Employing Agencies can use our on-line tool at http://owcp.dol.acs-inc.com to:

    • Check Eligibility – Learn if Authorization is required for a particular procedure.  Learn the Accepted Conditions on a claim.
    • Check Authorization – Learn if authorization has been approved without calling ACS or waiting for an authorization letter. Medical Providers can also seek, and for routine care receive, medical authorizations online.
    • Check Bill Payment - Learn status of submitted bills and reimbursement requests. Providers can view Remittance Vouchers (RVs).

    Automated bill and authorization status is available via our toll-free Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system at 866-335-8319.
