Important Changes to the Federal Minimum Wage

The Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2007 increased the federal minimum wage in three
steps:

$5.85 per hour as of July 24, 2007;
-
$6.55 per hour as of July 24, 2008; and
-
$7.25 per hour as of July 24, 2009.
The regular rate of pay on which
overtime pay is calculated cannot be less than the federal minimum wage. This

provide. The regular rate of pay calculated from employee's data will be compared to
the federal minimum wage. To ensure that the correct minimum wage is used for this
