Contract Work Hours Safety Standards Act (CWHSSA) Coverage

The Contract Work Hours Safety Standards Act (CWHSSA) is an overtime statute. It requires that all laborers, mechanics, guards and watchmen—with or without disabilities—performing on contracts in excess of $100,000 that are subject to McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) or Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA) are entitled to overtime pay of time and one half their regular rate of pay for all hours worked on the contract over 40 in a workweek.
