Six-Month Look-Back Period

A plan may only impose a preexisting condition exclusion on new enrollees for conditions for which medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment was received or recommended within the 6-month period ending on their enrollment date. An individualís enrollment date is the earlier of (1) the first day of coverage; or (2) the first day of any waiting period for coverage.
