U.S. Department of Labor to host webcast on electronic filing requirements for Form 5500

Washington – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) will host a free webcast to assist plan sponsors and service providers with upcoming changes to the Form 5500 and electronic filing requirements that start with the 2009 plan year filings.

The webcast will focus on frequently asked questions about preparation of the Form 5500, preparation for electronic filing and the new EFAST2 system – also known as the ERISA Filing Acceptance System. The discussion will highlight new features of the Delinquent Filer Voluntary Compliance Program, the new Form 5500 SF and certain schedules, and the process of transition from EFAST to EFAST2.
