President and CEO of Jefferson Community & Technical College Dr. Tony Newberry and President of KentuckianaWorks Michael Gritton brief Secretary Perez on the joint project that is funded in part through a TAACCCT grant.
Secretary Perez thanks Kim, an employee of Kentucky Manufacturing Career Center, for her story on how Affordable Care Act saved her daughter’s life. Insurance companies can no longer deny her daughter coverage because of a pre-existing condition.
Darryl Harris, a student at Kentucky Manufacturing Career Center, discusses the importance of a strong partnership and how the demand-driven investments in job training lead directly to a job.

Secretary Perez listens to employer partners that are affiliated with the training center. The center works with 30 employer partners to identify new employees and training programs to meet their needs.
Secretary Perez wraps up the meeting with students, faculty and employer partners on how TAACCCT funding has supported advanced manufacturing programs across Kentucky, including some of the funding for this center.
