Photo Gallery: Filipino Workers to Benefit from Collaboration between Consul, Wage and Hour Division

Philippine Consul General Maria Hellen M. Barber-de la Vega and Ruben Rosalez, regional administrator in the West for WHD, formalized efforts to assist and protect Philippine nationals working in Southern Calif. and Nev., Ariz., New Mexico and Texas.
Philippine Consul General Barber-de la Vega said, "The social contract guaranteed by the Fair Labor Standards Act includes a social protection floor with strong safeguards for all workers, most especially the poorest and most vulnerable."
Staff from the Philippine Consulate in Los Angeles, from the Wage and Hour Division offices in California and community organizations witnessed the signing.
Malou Villacisneros, field organizer for the Pilipino Workers Center of Los Angeles, was among stakeholders invited to join the event.
