EXECUTIVE SUMMARY REPORT

INTRODUCTION TO THE PIA

OSHA Web Services support the OSHA Public web site; the OSHA Intranet; and the OSHA Extranet. These sites provide access to information that will help accomplish OSHA's mission by displaying valuable information on enforcement, standards, training, outreach, education, establishing partnerships and information on improving workplace safety and health.

System Characterization

OSHA Web Services is considered all machines, network connections and supporting software residing on servers at the OSHA Salt Lake Technical Center, Sandy, UT and in the OSHA National Office, Washington DC.

Results

Based on the PIA Questionnaire results, it is determined that OSHA Web Services is categorized as a General Support System (GSS). There is no personally identifying information displayed or searchable in the websites from the database. Personal information is neither searchable nor displayed in the user interface. There is no information in the system containing medical or financial records. A Privacy Act System of Records Notice (PARN) has not been published in the Federal Register at this time. Therefore, the Privacy Act of 1974 is not invoked.
