Local Workforce Investment Boards (Local Boards) and State Workforce
Agencies (SWA) together distribute about eighty-five percent of federal job
training dollars. One of CFBCI's top priorities is to encourage these agencies
to seek out partnerships with faith-based and community organizations. We also
strongly encourage faith-based and community organizations that are seeking
assistance to begin by reaching out to their Local Boards and State Workforce
Agencies.
The U.S. Department of Labor, in conjunction with the Center
for Employment Security Education and Research, has created information kits
designed to educate faith-based and community organizations on ways they can
partner with their Local Boards to meet the employment and training needs of
their communities. The information kits can be downloaded or ordered on-line
below at no cost.
