May 29 Stakeholder Meeting on Coal Dust Rule, Evansville, IN.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration is holding a series of stakeholder meetings on the final rule to lower miners’ exposure to respirable coal mine dust in all underground and surface coal mines. The one-day meetings highlight the major provisions of the rule, its new requirements and effective dates.
May 29 AHEAD: Alliances Helping Employers Achieve Diversity Symposium and Job Fair, San Antonio, TX.
US DOL, OFCCP in partnership with Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment and Alamo Area Disability Alliance are hosting a symposium and job fair. The symposium provides employers and government contractors an opportunity to be educated on the new and revised Section 503 and VEVRAA regulations and to hear about recruitment, training, and hiring people with disabilities and veterans. The Job Fair is open to registered employers seeking to meet or hire jobseekers including people with disabilities and veterans.
May 29 Health Benefits Laws Compliance Assistance Webcast, Washington, DC.
This year additional provisions of the Affordable Care Act become fully applicable as well as the final regulations of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act. To help you understand and comply with these provisions, the Department's Employee Benefits Security Administration is holding a webcast to provide practical information and tips. The webcast will address these provisions as well as new guidance including the updated COBRA model notices. If you are an employer who is trying to comply, or a third party administrator or insurer with questions, this is your chance to hear from the experts and ask questions.
May 29 OFCCP Construction Compliance Assistance - 16 EEO and Affirmative Action Requirements, Richmond, VA.
The OFCCP Richmond District Office will host an event titled "OFCCP Construction Compliance Assistance - 16 EEO and Affirmative Action Requirements". This event will provide compliance assistance guidance to federal construction contractors on reviewing construction contractor’s responsibilities and goals and how to implement the 16 affirmative action steps.
