May 16 OFCCP - Retaliation Complaints, Omaha, NE.
This presentation will outline the elements of retaliation complaints to include regulatory statutes, time frames for filing complaints, and OFCCP complaint processing.
May 16 OFCCP -" Empowerment Session" on Developing AAPs for New and Small Supply and Service Contractors and Outreach Best Practices for a Diverse/Inclusive Workforce , Baltimore, MD.
The Baltimore District Office will host a seminar for new and small supply and service (nonconstruction) federal contractors about the components of written Affirmative Action Programs (AAPs), as required by Executive Order 11246, as amended, Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, as amended. The event will also emphasize the importance of effective outreach and recruitment efforts by contractors. Community-based recruitment sources will provide information on how they can assist contractors with their outreach efforts, supporting diversity and an inclusive work force.
May 16 OFCCP - Fort AP Hill VA Construction Project – Compliance Assistance/Outreach and Education Event for Prime and Subcontractors, Richmond , VA.
The OFCCP Richmond District is inviting all construction contractors working on the Fort AP Hill construction project to attend an empowerment session on how to comply with the 16 bid specifications and understanding your EEO AA obligations as a federal contractor. The attendees will also hear from the Native American community based organization Mattaponi-Pamunkey-Monacan, Inc. sharing information on their job training and career placement services and best practices on listing jobs with their organization to provide qualified Native American applicants for the trades vacancies.
May 16 Resources for Women Veterans: A Summit for Service Providers, Atlanta, GA.
The Department of Labor Women’s Bureau Atlanta regional staff will present at the Resources for Women Veterans: A Summit for Service Providers event at the Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center Conference Rooms c-d, on May 16th. The Bureau will present its “Trauma Guide” to an audience of faith-based and community organizations and employers.
May 16 Leaning In, Speaking Out: Strategies for Equity for Women in the Workplace Webinar, San Francisco, CA.
The Department of Labor Women’s Bureau San Francisco regional staff will serve as speakers for the “Leaning In, Speaking Out: Strategies for Equity for Women in the Workplace” webinar on May 16th. The event, designed to provide strategies for women to earn higher pay and advance in the workplace, will be presented in collaboration with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and include an audience of professional women, law school students, and other young women.
May 16 7th Annual Strengthening the Family Summit, Seattle, WA.
The Department of Labor Women’s Bureau Seattle regional staff will provide technical assistance and participate in the “7th Annual Strengthening the Family Summit” in Seattle, WA on May 16th. The event will include guest speakers by various community groups about changing roles of families and faith-based partnerships. The Bureau will provide assistance and support to Health and Human Services by promoting the event with women organizations and community-based organizations, as well as exhibiting the Bureau’s brochures on equal pay in multiple-language and the Working for Women: Your Job, Your Rights fact sheet.
