NHTSA provides leadership to the motor vehicle and highway safety community through the development of innovative approaches to reducing motor vehicle crashes and injuries.  A major focus of NHTSA is the prevention of impaired driving and provides a variety of studies and reports regarding impaired driving.  NHTSA provides resources to state and community law enforcement agencies, as well as impaired driving programs and a range of prevention publications.
