In Helsinki, Finland on Nov. 22, Dr. David Michaels, assistant secretary of labor for occupational safety and health, received the 2013 Jorma Rantanen award, an international honor given each year to a distinguished occupational health and safety research scientist or professional. Each year, the award winner delivers the Jorma Rantanen Lecture, named for the former president of the International Commission on Occupational Health.
