Nancy Leppink, deputy administrator for the Wage and Hour Division testified on Tuesday, before the House Subcommittee on Education and the Workforce on the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to amend the companionship and live-in worker regulations. She told the subcommittee that nearly 40 percent of in-home care workers have to rely on food stamps or other forms of public assistance in order to make ends meet.
